How Caregress sources and labels listing information
Caregress uses public licensing data together with facility-managed profile content. This page explains where listing information comes from, how it is labeled, and how we handle attribution, updates, and corrections.
Public licensing data
Caregress uses public licensing data published by the California Department of Social Services through California Open Data / Data.gov.
The underlying dataset is used as a source for public facility listing records, including licensing-related facts such as facility identity, address, phone, status, county, regional office, administrator, and similar public licensing information.
Attribution and license
Caregress uses public licensing data published by the California Department of Social Services through California Open Data / Data.gov. Published metadata for the dataset indicates a Creative Commons Attribution license.
Caregress transforms, normalizes, and supplements the source data for directory use.

Caregress is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or recommended by the State of California, the California Department of Social Services, or California Open Data.
References to public licensing data or facility information on Caregress should not be interpreted as state approval, recommendation, ranking, or endorsement of any facility or service.
How content is labeled
Caregress uses source labels on listing pages so visitors can tell what type of information they are reading.
- State-derived: public licensing information sourced from California public data.
- Operator-managed: profile sections managed by a facility or its authorized operator through Caregress.
- Facility-provided photos: photos supplied by the facility or its authorized representative.
- Public feedback: listing issue reports submitted by visitors.
Unclaimed and claimed profiles
Unclaimed profiles display only public licensing data. Additional profile sections are published when a facility claims and manages its profile through Caregress.
Claimed profiles may include operator-managed content such as facility descriptions, services, payment options, pricing context, vacancy information, additional contacts, inquiry handling, social links, and photos.
Photos and copyright
Caregress displays facility photos only when they are provided by the facility or its authorized representative.
Copyright in facility photos remains with the facility or the original rights holder. Copying, downloading, republishing, or reusing facility photos requires permission directly from the facility or the applicable rights holder.
Freshness and corrections
Caregress periodically refreshes public licensing data and also allows facilities to maintain their operator-managed profile content.
Because public records and facility-managed information can change, Caregress does not guarantee absolute completeness or accuracy at all times.
